CTSA and CTRC Funding Opportunities

The goal of the Junior Investigator Preliminary/Feasibility Grant Program is to encourage junior investigators to develop clinical research projects that will ultimately lead to extramural NIH funding. The JIPGP awards allow junior faculty members, clinical fellows and both M.D. and Ph.D. post-doctoral trainees with appropriate mentors to obtain funds for human-based pilot projects that are investigator-initiated, CTRC studies. The studies should be designed to obtain sufficient preliminary data for a K23 or R03 grant submission. It is anticipated that the award will lead to a competitive extramural grant application and to a career in Clinical and Translational Research Center-focused clinical investigation. Requests for applications are issued in January and awards are granted in April for the next academic year.
